The newly opened central sports ground at Daugava Stadium, Augšiela 1, Rīga, is now open for professional sports training and competitions, sports fans and everyone interested. The newly opened multifunctional venue is also suitable for various cultural and entertainment events.
The stadium meets the requirements of international sports organizations and can therefore host training and competitions in athletics, football, rugby, and other sports at national and international level.
As a result of the reconstruction, the Daugava Stadium is now a Category 4 stadium. The central football pitch meets the requirements of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
The reconstructed central athletics area of the stadium has a well-equipped running track, long/triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and hammer throw, javelin, high jump, and water hurdles.
The Daugava Stadium provides more than 10,000 seats for spectators.
The total financing of the stadium reconstruction project is EUR 70,856,796, of which the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) contribution is EUR 37,086,418, the state budget funding is EUR 5,050,211 and the municipality funding is EUR 1,495,958, plus other funding.
