Latvia beats Belgium at basketball again

On Monday, November 25 the Latvian men's national basketball team beat the Belgian national team 85:83 in an exciting  European Championship qualification match in Charleroi.

Regardless of the results in the qualification, Latvia, as the host country, is guaranteed participation in the final tournament. Nevertheless, there was nothing half-hearted about the team's performance in a hard-fought match against a talented Belgian outfit that will provide a real confidence boost.

In the first game between the teams on Friday in Rīga, Latvia won 75:72. In both games, the Latvian national team did not have several star players, giving the opportunity to prove themselves to newcomers who seized the opportunity.

The FIBA Eurobasket European Championship in 2025 will take place from August 27 to September 14. The first stage of the final tournament will be held in four countries: Cyprus, Poland, Finland and Latvia. All elimination matches will take place in Rīga.
