Last year's 13th place at the World Championships secured Zēbolds a place at the Olympic Games. Only 12 riders will start the fight for a place on the Olympic podium.
The competition starts at 16:00 Latvian time.
Also on Tuesday, after winning their first gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, the Latvian 3x3 basketball team will play their first game in Paris.
Three years after Tokyo gold, in addition to the legendary foursome of Nauris Miezis, Kārlis Lasmanis, Agnis Čavars and Edgars Krūmiņš, the team is now also filled with new players - Francis Lācis and Zigmārs Raimo. Head coach Raimonds Feldmanis has selected Olympic champions Miezis and Lasmanis, as well as debutants Franci and Raimo for the line-up.
Čavars and Krūmiņš will be able to replace a player in case of injury and will also be assistants in training. Latvia is ranked third ahead of the Paris Games. On the eve of the Tokyo Games, Latvia was ranked second. To be honest, it does not matter where Latvia is placed - the most important thing is that Latvian basketball players are the only real contenders for a medal.
First test against Lithuania is at 19:35 Latvian time.
