Bobsleigh competitor Daumants Dreiškens will have the honor of carrying Latvia's flag at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea, the Latvian Olympic Federation announced January 29.

The imposing sportsman should certainly be easy to spot. The 33-year-old will be competing in his fourth Winter Olympics and currently provides some of the power propelling bobsled pilot Oskars Melbardis.

"It really will be an honor to carry the flag," said Dreiškens, "I hope that we will see the flag not just at the opening ceremony, but in the awards ceremonies too."

As previously reported by LSM, Latvia will be sending a 35-strong team to South Korea with hopes that a record number of medals might be claimed.
