A dominant display saw Latvia run out 21:8 winners despite starting the match as underdogs.
Earlier, the Russian Olympic Committee team upset favorites Serbia 21:10 to book their own place in the final.
The team plays under the banner of the Russian Olympic Committee rather than the Russian Federation as part of the punishment for Russia's massive sports doping program.
The match to decide the destination of gold and silver will take place later today at 16.25 Rīga time. It will be shown live on LTV7 and LSM's REPLAY.LV internet service.
It is the first time 3x3 basketball has featured as an Olympic event.
