The Latvian pairing of Oskars Ķibermanis and Matīss Miknis took second place on December 9 on home ground in the World Cup bobsleigh event taking place at Sigulda.
This followed an identical result on December 8. There were two separate bob events as the track is not fit for four-men bobs.
After the run Ķibermanis took the blame for not winning, seeing as the two were just fractions of a second apart from the first place, which was claimed by Germany's pairing of Friedrich and Schuller with Austria's Maier and Sammer in third.

Dukurs brothers second and sixth in skeleton
Meanwhile Latvia's Martins Dukurs placed second in the season's opening Skeleton World Cup stage on December 8.
After the run, he said that his current goal is getting used to the new sled instead of scoring victories.
Russia's Nikita Tregubov triumphed in the stage, while South Korea's Yun Sung-Bin placed third.
Latvia's Tomass Dukurs finished in overall sixth place, while Ivo Steinbergs finished in 11th.
