In NBA action on January 7, Latvian forward Rodions Kurucs matched his career high with 24 points, but the Brooklyn Nets lost to the Boston Celtics 95:116 (22:34, 23:22, 29:30, 21:30), snapping a three-game winning streak.

As reported, Kurucs also scored 24 points in the Nets' loss to the Indiana Pacers on December 21.

Kurucs was on the floor for 28 minutes last night, also pulling down one rebound and making one assist.

Kurucs led the way for the Nets on Monday, with Spencer Dinwiddie adding 15 points, while Kenneth Faried had 13 points and 12 rebounds. On the other hand, Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with 17 points.

The Nets are in eighth place in the NBA Eastern Conference with 20 wins and 22 losses, while the Celtics are in fifth place in the conference with 24 wins and 15 losses.

The Nets will next host the Atlanta hawks on January 9.

Kurucs and Dāvis Bertāns (San Antonio Spurs) are currently the only active Latvian players in the NBA as Kristaps Porziņģis (New York Knicks) is still nursing an injury.

Bertāns meanwhile helped Spurs beat the Detroit Pistons 119:107 (25:31, 34:20, 25:22, 35:34) in an NBA regular season game on January 9, finishing the night with five points, three rebounds, and five assists - his personal best.
