Latvia's hockey world championship campaign starts with a win

Latvia's series of matches in the 2018 Ice Hockey World Championship got off to a satisfying start May 5 with a win over Norway in Denmark.

Despite a slow start that saw the Norwegians take a two-goal lead, Latvia improved as the game progressed and emerged victorious 3:2 thanks to a pair of goals from Rūdolfs Balcers either side of a Rodrigo Abols goal.

The win will boost confidence ahead of a tricky next match versus Finland May 6.
