Luge team claims relay bronze

Latvian luge sliders Eliza Cauce, Arturs Darznieks, plus the Sics brothers, Andris and Juris, won bronze medals in the relay event at the European championship in Konigssee on January 6, reaching the podium for the fourth year in a row.

The competition, which was also the fifth stage of the World Cup series, was won by the German team who finished with a time of 2:42 minutes, 1.6 seconds ahead of the Latvians.

Latvia placed fifth in the World Cup standings, as the US took second place in the competition.

Austria was third, and Canada was fourth.
