'Plogga' founder Erik Ahlström to speak in Rīga

Take note – story published 4 years ago

The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) in Rīga is to host a public lecture by Swede Erik Ahlström, inventor of the sport of 'Plogging' - a combination of jogging with picking up litter.

It started as an organised activity in Sweden, with the intention of both improving personal well-being and the natural surroundings. Now the movement is making a positive difference globally with groups launched in hundreds of locations around the world. There is a Plogga event held in Sweden almost every day, according to the SSE.

Ahlström, the founder of Plogga, wants to share with the Latvian audience his experience of founding a global movement, and his vision for wanting to encourage everyone to take care of their own personal well-being while at the same time becoming "proud litter pickers”.

The lecture will take place Saturday, September 28, 2019, 11:00 – 12:00 at the SSE Riga, Soros Auditorium.

Attendance is free and open to the general public. Details at the SSE Rīga website.
