Porziņģis alleged to have been caught speeding

Latvian basketball star Kristaps Porziņģis was caught exceeding the speed limit while home in Latvia this month, LSM's Latvian language service reported September 25, citing the LETA news agency.

LETA in turn cited "unofficial information", while the player's brother and agent Janis refused to comment.

Furthermore LETA did not say by how much Porzingis was believed to have exceeded the speed limit, nor the penalty, if any, imposed, which might range from a fine to the removal of a driving license.

The Liepaja-born star is currently in the United States with the New York Knicks after representing his country in the Eurobasket 2017 championships in which Latvia finished fifth.
