Sevastova brushes past US Open winner into Beijing finals

On October 6, Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova defeated U.S. Open champ Naomi Osaka (Japan) 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals of the Beijing Premier series tennis tournament.

At the moment, Sevastova is ranked 20th in the WTA rankings, while Osaka is ranked 6th.

Sevastova has earned 650 WTA ranking points for advancing to the final of the Beijing tournament, where she will take on the winner of the semifinal dual between Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki and China's Wang Qiang.
