Sevastova, Gulbis see rankings pick up

After advancing to the quarterfinals of the Bastad tournament in Sweden, Latvia's Anastastija Sevastova has taken 16th place in Women's Tennis Association rankings, a new record for the player previously ranked 17.

Latvia's up-and-coming tennis star Jeļena Ostapenko sits at 12th place in WTA rankings.

Meanwhile Ernests Gulbis has advanced to 272th place in Association of Tennis Professionals rankings. He was previously ranked 313. 

Last week he advanced to the quarterfinals of the Swiss Open but lost to Italy's Fabio Fognini who went on to win the tournament.
