Sevastova through to Beijing WTA quarterfinals

On October 3, Latvia's second-best ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova defeated Croatia's Donna Vekic 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Beijing WTA Premier series tennis tournament.

At the moment Sevastova is ranked 20th in the WTA rankings, while Vekic is ranked 38th in the world.

Sevastova has earned 215 WTA ranking points for advancing to the quarterfinals of the Beijing tournament, where she will take on the winner of the third round match-up between Sloane Stephens (United States) and Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia).
