Sevastova, who is currently ranked 19th in the WTA rankings, has earned 190 WTA ranking points for advancing to the quarterfinals at the Canadian Open, where she will play the world's No. 3 Sloane Stephens (United States).
As reported, Latvia's top-ranked tennis player Alona Ostapenko was defeated by Britain's Johanna Konta 7-6 (8:6), 1-6, 2-6 in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday.
At the Canadian Open last year, both Sevastova and Ostapenko lost in the first round.
