Take note – story published 6 years ago

In early December, Sigulda will hold the first stage of the 2018/2019 season's World Cup in the skeleton and two-man bobsleigh event, the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation said.

Next year's World Cup will have eight stage in total, with the Sigulda stage to take place between December 3 and 6.

Since the Sigulda Track must be reconstructed to host the four-man event, the Winterberg track in Germany will host two four-man stages the following week.

There will be several more World Cup stages being held at different European tracks, with the final two stages of the season to be held in North America.

As reported by LSM, representatives from Stockholm's bid to organize the 2026 Winter Olympics have approached the Latvian Olympic Committee for the Sigulda Bobsleigh Track to be included in its Olympic bid.
