Skujiņš ends 2021 Tour de France with best placing so far

Latvian road racing champion Toms Skujiņš ended the 2021 Tour de France in a creditable 71st place among the 141 riders who made it to the finish on Champs Elysees in Paris on July 18. In total 228 riders were on e start list for stage one, three weeks earlier. 

The Trek-Segafredo rider put in a good team effort and improved on his previous best rankings in the general classification in which he placed 81st in both 2020 and 2019. In his first Tour in 2018 he finished in 82nd place.

  This year's Tour was won by Slovenia's Tadej Pogacar for a second time.
