Mencis has been acting as executive director of the seat of the Board since January 2022, after the former chair stepped down. Mencis will officially enter into office after the agreement of the European Central Bank.
Lauris Mencis has worked at Swedbank for more than 20 years and was a member of the Board of Governors of Enterprises management and has been a board member of Swedbank Latvija for nearly two years. During his career, Swedbank has managed various banking departments, international customer service departments, small, medium-sized, and large business services.
Mencis has been involved in various social responsibility projects related to promoting entrepreneurship, as well as supporting the development of the skills of different pupils and young people. He is also a member of the Finance Latvia Association.
