Latvian handiwork you can rely on

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Latvian startup Partly has created a mobile application called Partly that helps people find a reliable handyperson or assistant for household work, according to Latvian Television's “Rīta Panorāma” on April 24.

“The app idea is old – it already occurred when mobile phones weren't integral to our daily life. The main idea was to create an environment, community, where people can entrust their daily household chores and solve them in a safe, digital way,” said co-owner Arnis Celitāns.

Currently the most popular search categories for handypeople are plumbing services and repairs. “In addition we offer electricians, home experts, furniture assemblage, as well as cleaning service categories. Soon we'll also have information on room disinfection service providers,” said Celitāns.

To find a service first the client publishes a description of the services they require. Then they receive a price offer, and if they find it acceptable they confirm it. After the work is done the client leaves a review. All the people offering the services have had their ID verified and have a visible rating.

“Payment is also digital. If something goes wrong the client can always get their money back or ask for compensation,” said the co-owner.
