New boss appointed at Tet telecoms company

Uldis Tatarčuks has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of SIA Tet (formerly known as Lattelecom), the company announced July 9. 

Since his long-serving predecessor departed under a shadow in December 2020, as reported by LSM at the time,  Tatarčuks was the acting CEO and Chairman of the Board of SIA Tet, while before that he was a member of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of Tet for almost 10 years.

A top-line recuitment agency was brought in to help find a new CEO and Chairman from among the Baltics and Scandinavia, but in the end the decision was made to go with the man already in the job. 

Klavs Vasks, Chairman of the Tet Council said: "At the end of the selection process, the Tet Council, representing the interests of both shareholders, unanimously decided to appoint Uldis Tatarčuks as Tet's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board, and during the selection process demonstrated a strong vision of future development and its implementation in a company important for the Latvian economy and development."

Tatarčuks said: "Tet has always been a pioneer in introducing the latest technological solutions to Latvian society and business, and will certainly continue to do so, developing beyond Latvia."
 
Prior to working at Tet, Tatarčuks was at Citrus Solutions, G4S and Bite Latvija. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Riga Business School and has been a member of the Board of the European Telecommunications IT Society (ETIS) since 2014.
 
The technology and entertainment company Tet is owned by the Latvian state (51%) and the Danish-registered subsidiary of Scandinavian tlecoms company Telia (49%).
