Since his long-serving predecessor departed under a shadow in December 2020, as reported by LSM at the time, Tatarčuks was the acting CEO and Chairman of the Board of SIA Tet, while before that he was a member of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of Tet for almost 10 years.
A top-line recuitment agency was brought in to help find a new CEO and Chairman from among the Baltics and Scandinavia, but in the end the decision was made to go with the man already in the job.
Klavs Vasks, Chairman of the Tet Council said: "At the end of the selection process, the Tet Council, representing the interests of both shareholders, unanimously decided to appoint Uldis Tatarčuks as Tet's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board, and during the selection process demonstrated a strong vision of future development and its implementation in a company important for the Latvian economy and development."
