How do Latvian salaries stack up against the rest of the EU?

Eurostat published an easy-to-understand graph November 7 showing how Latvian salaries compare with those in other European Union countries.

In 2023, the average annual full-time adjusted salary for employees in the EU as a whole was €37 900, reflecting a 6.5% increase from €35 600 in 2022.

Among the EU countries, the highest average annual full-time adjusted salary was recorded in Luxembourg (€81 100), followed by Denmark (€67 600) and Ireland (€58 700).

In contrast, the lowest average annual full time adjusted salaries were recorded in Bulgaria (€13 500), Hungary (€16 900) and Greece (€17 000).

Latvia managed to better those figures but was still in the lower portion of the data with an average annual full time adjusted salary in 2023 of €22,293, trailing both Lithuania (€27,178) and Estonia (€24,899). Latvian salaries rose from €19,187 in 2022 – an increase of around 15%.
