Latvian producer prices down in September

Data published October 21 by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia show that in September 2024, compared to September 2023, level of producer prices in Latvian industry reduced by 3.4 %. 

The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market reduced by 6.4 %, and prices of exported products by 0.5 %. Prices of products exported to euro area countries decreased by 0.1 % and of products exported to non-euro area countries by 0.9 %.

Price drops in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, as well as manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture) all had a downward impact on the level of producer prices during the year.

Waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery, as well as manufacture of selected food products had an upward impact on the producer price changes.

In September 2024, compared to August, the level of producer prices in Latvian industry also decreased, by 0.3 %. The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 0.5 %, and prices of exported products – by 0.1 %. The level of producer prices of products exported to euro area countries went up by 0.3 %, while that of products exported to non-euro area countries fell by 0.4 %.
