Rīga's central heating prices to go down in April

As of April 1, the Rīga centralized heating company Rīgas siltums thermal energy tariff will be EUR 165.32 per megawatt-hour (MWh) (excluding VAT), which is 10% less compared to the current tariff, the company said March 31.

With the household state aid applied to households, the thermal energy rate will be EUR 110.53/MWh (excluding VAT) instead of EUR 112.39/MWh (excluding VAT).

The reduction of the thermal energy tariff is based on a decrease in the prices of purchased thermal energy and woodchips.

The company plans that as energy prices fall, the tariff will continue to be revised and reduced.
