airBaltic brings neighbors closer together

Take note – story published 7 years ago

Latvian airline airBaltic did its bit for Baltic unity Monday, relaunching direct flights between neighboring Lithuania and Estonia.

As well as bringing our Baltic neighbors closer together, the 10-times-weekly service between Tallinn and Vilnius will help consolidate the Baltic market and reinforce airBaltic's position as the main local player in the airline industry.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic said: “The opening of the Vilnius-Tallinn route is a symbolic new beginning for airBaltic, as it marks the successful conclusion of our ReShape restructuring program.

"Under the restructuring program, it was one of 14 profitable routes that we had to give up, and now we are relaunching it so that our Baltic customers benefit from convenient morning and evening departures, and considerably lower fares on the route.

The route opened with simultaneous departures from Tallinn and Vilnius, giving travellers the chance to wave to each other as they passed over Latvia.
