At the meeting of the City Council on September 30 this year, the members of the municipality decided to set the entry fee for the whole year starting April 2022, with the pass price being set at three euros instead of the previous two euros.
Plešs said that the amendments made by the City Council to the binding rules did not justify the increase of the fee and the need for its application throughout the year.
“Unfortunately, the City Council has not evaluated the intensity of the tourism industry, transit traffic flows, and the impact of air pollution. The general necessity of the binding rules and the public interest has also not been assessed, so the Ministry has issued an order on the suspension of the binding rules of the municipality,” said Plešs.
The Ministry concluded that the binding rules of the City Council had been drafted and approved without regard to the public interest, lack of justification and are not proportionate, as well as are contrary to the requirements of regulatory enactments.
