"Ghetto Games" organizer Raimonds Elbakjans said they intended to use their experience hosting events in Latvia to put on similar shows in other countries, beginning with a ghetto Games event in the Philippines in January.
"It's something that's really needed there... there really is a ghetto," said Elbakjans.
He was speaking ahead of a major Ghetto Games event running this weekend in Ventspils, western Latvia.
Events typically feature all manner of urban sports such a skatebording, plus urban music and various other activities.
