The next wage hike is slated for September 2018 when the monthly minimum paid to teachers will increase to €710; the 2019 figure is €750; the 2020 figure is €790; the 2021 figure is €830; while the 2022 figure is €900.
A total €6.8m will be required to boost the teachers' pay in 2018 and much more in the following years, peaking at €103m in 2022.
The plan also envisions rising wages for university and college teachers, for which €3.6m will be necessary in 2018.
Most of the extra money is expected to come from optimizing the school network.
