Industrial output up 2.4% in October in Latvia

Data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to October 2020, in October 2021 industrial production output increased by 2.4% according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices.

 Production output increase was registered in manufacturing - by 3.9%, in mining and quarrying - by 3.1%, but decreased in electricity and gas supply - by 7.1%.

In October 2021, compared to September 2021, manufacturing production output according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices decreased by 1.5 %. The decline in production was in electricity and gas supply – by 7.6 % and manufacturing – by 0.4 %, in turn, increase was observed in mining and quarrying - by 0.4 %.

Compared to October 2020, in October 2021 manufacturing turnover, according to calendar adjusted data at current prices, increased by 21.2 %. Turnover increased by 15.3 % in the domestic market and by 24.1 % in exports (including 16.3 % in the euro area and by 30.6 % in non-euro area).

In October 2021, compared to September 2021, manufacturing turnover, according to seasonally adjusted data, decreased by 1.3 %. Turnover decreased by 3.3 % in the domestic market and by 0.3 % in exports (by 0.9 % in the euro area but increased by 0.1 % in non-euro area).
