Industrial production up 5.8% on year in Latvia

Data published November 3 by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to September 2020, in September 2021 industrial production output increased by 5.8% according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. 

The total increase was affected by production output increase registered in manufacturing (by 6.7 %), in electricity and gas supply – by 0.7 %, while there was a slight decrease in mining and quarrying - by 1.1 %.

In September 2021, compared to August 2021, manufacturing production output according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices increased by 1.5 %, including in electricity and gas supply – by 38.6%, but the decrease was in mining and quarrying - by 4.7 %. In turn, manufacturing output remained at the level of the previous month.

Compared to September 2020, in September 2021 manufacturing turnover, according to calendar adjusted data at current prices, increased by 29,5 %. Turnover increased by 23 % in the domestic market and by 32.9 % in exports (including 29.4 % in the euro area and by 35.5 % in non-euro area).

In September 2021, compared to August 2021, manufacturing turnover, according to seasonally adjusted data at current prices, increased by 0,3 %. Turnover increased by 2.3 % in the domestic market and decreased by 0.6 % in exports (it decreased by 3.3 % in the non-euro area and increased by 3.3 % in euro area).
