Meanwhile, Lithuania also registered 0.5 percent growth quarter-on-quarter, while Estonia saw a 0.5 percent reduction in its GDP.
Estonia, Greece and Finland registered negative growth.
The EU's economy grew by 0.4 percent in the third quarter, while the eurozone registered 0.3 percent growth.
Meanwhile, when compared to the third quarter of last year, the EU has posted 1.9 percent growth in the third quarter, but the eurozone - by 1.6 percent.
Latvia registered a 2.5 percent increase in GDP in the third quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year, showing it still performs better than the EU average.
The Czech Republic registered the fastest economic growth when compared to the third quarter of last year - by 4.3 percent, followed by Poland and Romania - 3.6 percent, and Slovakia - 3.5 percent.
Meanwhile, Estonia posted a 0.5 percent increase in GDP when compared to last year, while Lithuania saw a 1.8 percent increase.
