Only Estonia and Greece behind Latvia in Q2 growth - Eurostat

During the second quarter of 2016, Latvia has shown the third slowest GDP growth among EU member states, according to data released Friday by Eurostat.

Like in Italy, Latvia’s seasonally adjusted GDP grew by 0.7% on year in Q2 2016, the third weakest result among the bloc’s member states reporting their data. 

Estonia reported 0.5% growth for April-June 2016, and Lithuania’s GDP expanded by 2%.

While Greece's GDP shrank 0.7%.

The strongest GDP growth in the second quarter of 2016 was recorded in Romania (+5.9%), Slovakia (+3.7%), Spain (+3.2%), Sweden (+3.1%) and also Poland and Bulgaria (+3% in both).

Compared to the first quarter of this year, Latvia’s GDP increased by 0.4%, Estonia’s GDP added 0.3% and the Lithuanian economy grew 0.1%.
