Over 4,000 vacancies available for Ukrainian refugees in Latvia

Take note – story published 2 years ago

Over five hundred Latvian employers are currently ready to ensure over 4,200 workplaces for Ukrainian refugees, Latvian Radio reported March 14.

Although most vacancies are in low-skilled professions, there are also demands for specialists: doctors, nurses, programmers, customer service experts. The job opportunities are available throughout the country but most are in Rīga.

The head of the State Employment  Agency in Rīga Sandra Tarabrina said that the number of vacancies is likely to grow.  She said that there are more opportunities in 'male-dominated sectors' like construction, production, transport and agriculture but many options are available.

Employers ready to provide workspaces are invited to register the vacancy with the State Employment Agency.

Ukrainian refugees can turn to the Agency at any of the branches listed here, as well as look for job opportunities at the joint assistance center in Rīga, Congress Hall (Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street 5), or on the joint information portal Ukraine to Latvia.
