Major roadworks continue across Latvia

Construction work is taking place on 68 sections of national roads, 26 of which are on regional roads. The most extensive traffic restrictions are on the Vidzeme highway from the turn to Cēsis to Rīdzene, Latvian State Roads (LVC) said.

Major traffic restrictions on main national roads:

- Vidzeme highway (A2) from the turn-off to Cesis (P20) to Ridene, five traffic lights and a local detour, speed limits 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated crossing time 45 minutes;

- on the Jelgava highway (A8)  from Riga to Jaunolaine speed limit 70 and 50 km/h, estimated crossing time approximately 30 minutes; and from Dalbe to the bridge over the Vircava River speed limit 70 and 50 km/h, estimated crossing time 40 minutes;

- Ventspils motorway (A10) from the turn to Ugāle mill (V1323) to Ūdensvada road will be controlled by traffic lights or traffic regulators in up to two sections, speed limits 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated crossing time 35 minutes.
