Take note – story published 1 year ago

During February 2023, the Latvian airline airBaltic carried 232 800 passengers or 86% more than during the same period last year, the airline said in a press release March 13.

In February the Latvian flag-carrier airBaltic performed 2,560 flights, marking a 33% increase on February 2022.

Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic said: “During the first two months of the year we have carried close to half a million passengers. This is almost twice as many as last year, indicating strong growth for airBaltic... we are confident of continuing to see growing numbers of carried passengers and operated flights in the coming months.”

Established in 1995, airBaltic's primary shareholder is the Latvian state, which holds 97.96% of the stock.

As recently reported by LSM, the airline posted a 54 million euro loss in 2022, though figures suggested it was bouncing back strongly from the effects of the global pandemic.
