Train delays on the Jelgava line Wednesday morning

Train traffic on the Jelgava railway line was delayed on Wednesday morning due to technical reasons, according to information published by JSC "Pasažieru vilciens" (Vivi).

By midday traffic was restored.

Vivi explained to Latvian Television that the disruption of train traffic this morning was not due to snow. A train should have been restarted, but due to human error it failed to do so correctly, thus blocking all traffic.

Traffic has now been fully restored.

The train Jelgava (7:46) - Riga (8:33) was canceled for technical reasons, as well as Riga (7:44)-Jelgava (8:29), Jelgava (8:46)-Riga (9:33).

The Jelgava (7:03)-Riga (7:48) train, on the other hand, stood at Olaine station waiting for an oncoming train, with an estimated delay of about one hour.

Also, the train Jelgava (619) - Riga (7:04) is standing at Olaine station for the same reason, with an expected delay of about 90 minutes.

Previously, the train Riga (6:14)-Jelgava (7:01) on the Baloži-Jelgava section was canceled, while the train Riga (7:19)-Jelgava (8:04) runs with all stops from Baloži station.
