"Attention cyclists and pedestrians, the bridge over the Mārupīte has collapsed in Bieriņi! Be careful! Municipal police have been called, they promise to cordon it off," reports the Bieriņi neighborhood of Riga.
The bridge is currently closed.
The Riga City Council also has stated: "Attention! A wooden bridge over the Mārupīte River has collapsed on the Bieriņi cycle route. Riga Municipal Police officers have cordoned off the scene and the municipal services will take prompt action to restore the bridge."
In the meantime, residents are invited to use another nearby bridge to cross the Mārupīte.
