Driving is difficult on the country's main roads A2, A3, A6, A9, A10, A12, P80.
On regional roads, conditions are poor in Kurzeme as well as in the vicinity of Dobele, Rīga, Balvi, Aizkraukle, Valmiera, Jēkabpils, Gulbene, Valka, Limbaži and Madona.
LVC noted that during the changeable weather conditions that characterize the season change, roads can become icy in the mornings, so drivers should take extra care. LVC encourages drivers to drive at a speed appropriate to the road surface conditions and to keep a greater distance.
LVC also reminds drivers to fit winter tires now. They are mandatory as of December 1.
