Andris Puriņš, Acting Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, told Latvian Radio's "Good Morning" program on November 29 that the public services regulator had approved the draft tariffs submitted in July, which will come into force on January 1 2025.
From now on, a domestic letter will cost EUR 2.30, compared to EUR 1.65 at present, and the tariff for the delivery of printed press will increase, resulting in an annual cost increase of EUR 1.50 for the weekly edition.
Puriņš pointed out that prices have not changed for two years: "If we take a year off and keep the prices the same, then of course the increase is more noticeable."
"Our feelings are divided - on the one hand we want the tariff to be lower, but we have to take into account the economic reality," said Puriņš.
