airBaltic opens base in Tampere

The Latvian airline airBaltic has opened a new base in Tampere, Finland, from which there will be seven direct flights in addition to existing flights to Riga, airBaltic said on May 1.

Starting May 2022, airBaltic will have direct flights from Tampere to Oslo (Norway) and Copenhagen (Denmark), Frankfurt and Munich (Germany), as well as Malaga (Spain) and Rhodes (Greece). Flights to Riga will also continue.

As of June, airBaltic will operate direct flights to Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

airBaltic hopes that passenger demand will gradually increase, so flights to new destinations could be launched, airBaltic CEO Martins Gauss said in a statement.
