The development of the University of Latvia, the business center of Mūkusala, residential buildings, and the planned construction of “Rail Baltica” show that there will be more people in Pārdaugava in the near future. Hence, the municipality intends to address transport issues.
In order to connect Torņakalns with public transport on Mūkusalas Street, the municipality intends to build a bridge between Jelgavas and Dēļu Street.
Construction of the 30-meter and over five-meter-wide structure could cost Rīga more than €900 thousand. It is scheduled to be constructed between September this year until May next year.
