This will affect all traffic participants, including cars, trams, pedestrians, cyclists.
For automobiles and public transport, the tunnel will be closed for two weeks, from June 6 to 19, while pedestrians will be able to use it again from June 10.
Traffic will also be closed on Dzirnavu Street under the train transmission.
As public transport movements will also be restricted under both transmissions, Riga Transport has made changes to routes. On Prāgas Street, it affects the tram movement. The company's spokeswoman, Inese Rozīte, said: “Route 1 tram will no longer enter the Central Market, but will run straight down the 13. Janvāra Street. On the other hand, for the 2nd and 10th tram routes, the route name will be changed and the destination will not be located where it was until now, but in the vicinity of the Radio Circle."
The closure of the Dzirnavu Street transmission will affect several buses and one trolley-bus route, which will be diverted to Gogoļa and Turgeņeva Street.
