Transport movement will only be allowed on one side of the road in the next six weeks. The builder asks drivers to avoid the street as much as possible due to heavy congestion.
Andis Linde, a representative of the builder BERERIX, said: “We have successfully built all the engineering networks in the area and finally come to terms with the rebuilding of the street itself. [..] From Kalupes Street to Satekles Street, the whole half-street will be constructed anew. We'll rebuild all the constructive layers of the street."
The redevelopment of the street will be completed at the end of November, but some work will wait until spring.
“We'll build a new profile of this street in this area without building a layer of asphalt wear. That's what motorists know, it's the top layer. To have all the quality criteria, we will build it out in the spring. The full development of the sidewalks will only be completed in the spring," he explained.
