Ukrainians will be able to use Rīga public transport for free

Until the end of the year, Ukrainian residents registered in the Rīga support center will be able to travel in Rīga public transport free of charge, as decided by Riga City Council on June 8.

The amendments to the rules supported have yet to be approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM).

As soon as the Ministry has approved the amendments, Ukrainian civilians will be able to go to Rīgas Satiksme customer service centers and the Rīga Support Center on Kaļķu Street 1 to apply for the receipt of a personalized e-ticket.

In Riga public transport – tram, trolleybus and bus – Ukrainian civilians who have registered in Riga support centre and live in Riga will be able to receive the fares.

The free rides will be valid until December 31, 2022.
