Take note – story published 1 year ago

The 'Latvia Weekly' podcast is back with another review of the week's news in English, a very useful source of discussion on topical matters here in Latvia.

Latvia Weekly is an independent English language podcast hosted by Otto Tabuns and Joe Horgan.

This one covers the period July 10 - July 18 and includes discussion of why some of Latvia's most popular beaches are closed to swimmers due to low water quality as well as estimated high costs for the planned Soviet monument demolition, possible changes to Latvia's parental leave system, the trashiest criminal in Jēkabpils, and more.

According to its creators the podcast "breaks down the biggest stories in and around Latvia each week and aims to make the news understandable and easy to follow", providing analysis and context to help people get to know the country in a deeper way. It has guests and features a 'word of the week' to grow your Latvian language vocabulary.

You can listen to and download the podcast on the Soundcloud platform.

Latvia Weekly is not affiliated with LSM and the views expressed are entirely those of the content creators.
