A total of 363 brands competed for places in one of seven categories in Latvia this year, with 35 making it to the finals.
In the media brand section, public media did particularly well, accounting for three out of five finalists with Latvian Television, Latvian Radio and LSM joined by independent brands Delfi and Radio Skonto.
However, before anyone gets too excited it should be borne in mind that these are just the top five nominees: the actual winners will be announced on September 20 during a major event of the Baltic marketing industry, the "Baltic Brand Forum".
The finalists were determined based on the data of the Baltic brand and lifestyle study "Brand Capital", conducted by the "Norstat" market research company. This year, more than 3,000 residents of the Baltic countries participated in the study, answering almost 300 questions about their lifestyles and habits.
