The Latvian Institute of International Affairs has once again put its trust in a team of talented and professional experts, inviting them to look at and evaluate various foreign and security policy areas and their progress in 2021, as well as to consider development scenarios for 2022, thus taking part in the process of informing the society and offering recommendations to Latvian policy makers," says advance publicity material from LIIA.
The event, which starts at 12:00 Rīga time, coincides with the annual publication of the latest Latvian Foreign and Security Policy Yearbook for 2022, and will be livestreamed here on LSM as well as at www.liia.lv and the LIIA Facebook account. It will take place in Latvian, but with simultaneous translation into English provided.
Taking part in the event will be Andris Sprūds, Director of the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and Professor at Riga Stradiņš University; Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Rihards Kols, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima; Valdis Zatlers, former Latvian President (2007-2011); Gunda Reire, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mārtiņš Vargulis, Researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and moderator Sintija Broka.
Closing remarks will come from Reinhard Krumm, Director at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Baltic States.
