Motegi as hosted by his Latvian counterpart, Edgars Rinkēvičs, to discuss international and bilateral matters.
Following their meeting, the pair made a statement to media, though they did not take any questions. You can watch it below with English translation (it starts 22 minutes into the video). Minister Motegi stressed the potential for Japanese companies to get involved in Latvia and the Baltic regional economy. They also released a joint statement (attached).

During the visit, the Japanese Foreign Minister of Japan will also met with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš, laid flowers at the Freedom Monument and took part in a tree planting ceremony.
