Latvia sends condolences to Russia over Moscow air crash

Latvian officials have offered their condolences to Russia  following the crash of a passenger airliner near Moscow.

"The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who died in a plane crash in Russia, not far from Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, that claimed the lives of 71 persons," said a statement.

On 11 February, a Saratov Airlines passenger aircraft bound for the city of Orsk crashed shortly after taking off from the Domodedovo Airport in Moscow.

President Raimonds Vejonis also offered his "deep condolences" in a bilingual tweet.
