Two more citizens of Afghanistan and their families who had cooperated with the European Union's mission have been evacuated from the country and transported to Latvia, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs said on Twitter August 25.

Thus, Latvia has currently evacuated four Afghan nationals from Kabul. Two families already arrived in Latvia on Sunday.

According to Rinkēvičs, the evacuated Afghan citizens once provided support for the National Armed Forces (NBS) contingent. The Minister also said that they had refused further assistance.

On Tuesday morning, the minister said that evacuating people from Afghanistan was a difficult process, but he expressed hope that the maximum number of people would be evacuated.
