Such voter turnout is nearly twice as high as before the previous Saeima elections in 2018.
This week, three days – Monday, Thursday, and Friday – are allocated for early voting. On Thursday, the possibility to do so was until noon, and in two days it was used by 27,181 voters, or 1.76% of the electorate.
Although numerically the turnout in two days is highest in Riga, the percentage of more active voters is in Vidzeme, where 2.06% of the voters have already done it (1.96% in Rīga). The lowest percentage is in Zemgale (1.28%).
In comparison, before the previous elections, 15,085 people had made their choice on the first two days, according to CVK data.
Early voting can still be done on Friday from 10:00 to 16:00. This option will be available at 66 polling stations throughout Latvia. A list of these stations is available on the Central Election Commission's website.
Those who have cast their votes in advance will be allowed to reconsider and vote again on October 1. The vote in storage will then not be counted.
The parliamentary elections will take place on Saturday, October 1 between 7:00 to 20:00.
There are 19 lists of candidates registered for Saeima elections, with 1,829 candidates.
